Hey there! So, the plan for our homestead is a bit like a living thing - always evolving! But I've got my fingers crossed that we can stick to these simple guidelines and make some amazing progress in our first year.

Year 1 is going to be a busy one:

  1. Sprucing up the place: We'll start by giving both the inside and outside of our humble abode a fresh coat of paint. Nothing like a bit of color to liven things up!
  2. Keeping an eye out: Safety first! We're going to install a camera system to keep our homestead secure and give us peace of mind.
  3. Feathered friends: Next up, we're diving into the world of chicken keeping! We'll build a cozy coop and give our feathered friends a place to call home.
  4. Green thumbs: Let's get our hands dirty and build some raised garden beds behind the garage. Can't wait to see those veggies grow!
  5. Setting boundaries: It's time to fix up the fencing along our property lines, both at the sides and back. Gotta keep everything in its place!
  6. Goat goals: And for our four-legged friends, we'll construct a sturdy housing structure for our goats. They'll be living in style!
  7. Curb appeal: Oh, and let's not forget about the front yard. Maybe we'll even add a pond to really spruce things up!

If we hustle, I'm hoping we can knock out most of these tasks in the first 6 months. Imagine starting the new year with a homestead that's all polished and ready to go - now that's what I call kicking things off with a bang!
